Whatever

I recently saw someone who has a very nice body (even after children) and I made a comment about wishing I was thinner and toned. The comment made back to me was, "You can be if you put your mind to it." Um, okay. Yes, I COULD eat less and try to exercise more but "just putting my mind to it" isn't going to work. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive but I feel like a comment like that makes it sound like I don't WANT to be thinner and that I put my mind to being fat. WHATEVER!
I guess I'll go "put my mind to it" and see if I can drop 20 lbs!

Um yeah wouldn't that be nice? The bottome line? Everyone has a different metabolism. I'm not thrilled with my weight and I'd like to be thinner but I'm trying very hard to be happy with how I am. Funny how if I ate the same things as one of my thin friends, I'd still be heavy....grrr, sorry, I'd be offended too. People who are thin don't understand what it is like to battle being overweight and the challenge it is to lose it. So, I guess I'll put my mind to it too and I'll get skinny over night???lol. Give me a break, people are so rude.

if mind over matter worked with weight loss... we'd all be a whole lot thinner! people don't always think about how their comments could effect the other person

I'm going to go eat a snickerdoodle while I think about being thinner. Sheesh! I am about 30 pounds over where I need to be, which is probably 30 pounds over where I should be. But, like Michelle, I'm working on being happy while I work on losing weight. Don't beat yourself up too hard. Skinny people suck. LOL
